The 2026 KX™85 L is Kawasaki’s big-wheel youth motocross machine, engineered to help growing riders bridge the gap to full-size competition bikes. It brings proven KX performance to a larger, race-focused platform with the wheel size, suspension travel, and ergonomics young competitors need to advance with confidence.

Big-Wheel Advantage

The KX85 L features larger-diameter wheels than the standard KX85—19-inch front and 16-inch rear—to increase ground clearance, improve stability in ruts and whoops, and smooth out rough tracks. The taller chassis geometry also extends the bike’s usable lifespan for riders who have outgrown small-wheel 85s but aren’t ready for a full-size motocrosser.

Engine and Performance

A lightweight, liquid-cooled two-stroke single delivers responsive power across the rev range, supported by Kawasaki’s race-bred tuning know-how. A close-ratio 6-speed transmission helps keep the engine in the sweet spot, while the expansion chamber and silencer are designed for class-appropriate performance and throttle response suitable for competitive MX and cross-country youth racing.

Chassis, Suspension, and Brakes

A rigid perimeter-style frame provides predictable handling and feedback. Long-travel suspension with an inverted front fork and a linkage-equipped rear shock offers the adjustability needed to fine-tune setup for rider weight, track conditions, and evolving skill level.
