Critical Information for Global Buyers. Please Read Carefully.
You Are the Importer of Record.
When you purchase a motorcycle from Green Bike Sale for delivery outside the United States, you are legally responsible for all customs clearance, import duties, Value Added Tax (VAT), Goods and Services Tax (GST), and any other fees levied by your destination country.
What We Provide:
Commercial Invoice: Stating the actual purchase price paid.
Bill of Lading (BOL) or Air Waybill (AWB): The transport document.
Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin (MSO): Proof of new vehicle status.
Packing List: Detailed crate contents.
EPA/DOT Certification Labels: Proof of U.S. safety and emissions standards compliance (helpful for registration in many countries).
What We Do NOT Provide or Pay For:
Import Duties: Varies by country and engine displacement (typically 0% — 30% of invoice value).
VAT/GST: Varies by country (typically 10% — 25% of CIF Value).
Customs Brokerage Fees: The fee paid to a local agent to clear the motorcycle through customs.
Port Storage Fees: If you do not clear customs promptly, the port will charge daily storage.
Quarantine Inspection Fees: Australia and New Zealand require mandatory steam cleaning/biosecurity inspection.
Homologation or Compliance Modifications: Some countries require modifications (headlight changes, speedometer conversion to KPH, emissions equipment) to register the motorcycle locally.
Defining the Point of Risk Transfer.
All international shipments from Green Bike Sale are made under the following Incoterms unless otherwise agreed in writing:
| Incoterm | Definition | What It Means for You |
|---|---|---|
| FOB Origin (U.S. Port/Hub) | Free On Board — U.S. Port of Export | Title and risk of loss transfer to you the moment the motorcycle is loaded onto the vessel or aircraft at the U.S. departure point. You are responsible for insuring the cargo during ocean/air transit. |
| EXW (Ex Works) | Ex Works — Green Bike Sale Warehouse | You arrange and pay for all transportation from our door to yours. We simply make the crate available for your chosen carrier to pick up. |
Note: For an additional fee, we can arrange CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) pricing where Green Bike Sale manages and insures the main carriage to your destination port. Please request for CIF during checkout or contact our support to do so.
The procedure differs slightly for domestic vs. international shipments.
Inspect crate before signing Bill of Lading.
Note all damage on the BOL in writing.
Take clear photos of crate and damage.
Email team@greenbikesale.com within 24 hours.
Do NOT take delivery from the port without inspecting the crate.
If damage is visible, immediately request a Port Survey Report from the port authority or your customs broker.
File a claim with the Marine Cargo Insurance provider using the survey report.
Notify team@greenbikesale.com so we can provide supporting documentation (Invoice, Packing List, BOL).
Important: Failure to file a port survey report before leaving the terminal will result in denial of most marine insurance claims.
