2026 KX™65 — Youth MX, Ready to Race

Overview

The 2026 KX™65 is Kawasaki’s proven entry point into competition motocross, engineered to help young riders develop racecraft with a responsive chassis and approachable power delivery. It carries forward the KX lineage with a lightweight package, race-oriented geometry, and components selected for durability and performance on real tracks.

Engine and Performance

A liquid-cooled 64cc two-stroke single delivers crisp, predictable power that rewards proper throttle and clutch control. The close-ratio 6-speed transmission helps riders stay in the meat of the powerband, while a manual clutch teaches essential skills for starts and corner exits. Tunable jetting and service-friendly access make routine maintenance straightforward for families and privateer teams.

Chassis and Suspension

The compact steel frame is designed for stability and feedback, supporting confident cornering and consistent lap times. Long-travel suspension with Kawasaki’s Uni-Trak rear linkage provides bump absorption and traction across ruts, braking bumps, and jump landings. Damping and spring preload adjustability allow setup for rider size, speed, and track conditions.

Brakes and Wheels

Front and rear disc brakes offer reliable stopping power and modulation. The 17-inch front and 14-inch rear wheel combination gives young riders the balance, rollover capability, and agility suited to modern motocross tracks, with tire options readily available for varying soil types.

Ergonomics and Fit

Slim bodywork, a narrow midsection, and textured contact points help smaller riders move freely and maintain control. Control lever reach and suspension settings can be tailored to fit, supporting progression as riders grow in size and skill.

Race-Ready Details

From its competition-focused powertrain and gearing to serviceable components and durable plastics, the KX™65 is designed to withstand regular practice and race weekends. It integrates smoothly into the broader KX ecosystem, making it a logical first step toward Kawasaki’s larger displacement MX machines.
