The 2024 Z e-1 ABS is Kawasaki’s first fully electric Z “Supernaked,” engineered for urban mobility with the sharp styling and agile handling the Z family is known for. It delivers quiet, low-maintenance performance with instant electric response, compact dimensions, and standard ABS to inspire confidence in daily riding.

Electric performance

A compact brushless motor provides smooth, linear power with strong initial pickup for city traffic. Two selectable ride modes let you tailor response for efficiency or everyday performance, while an e-boost feature delivers a short burst of increased output for quick passes or merging. A walk mode with reverse assists in tight parking scenarios.

Removable batteries and simple charging

Power comes from two removable lithium-ion battery packs housed under the tank cover. They’re designed for convenient at-home or office charging using the included charger, and can also be charged on the bike using a charging adaptor. The dual-pack layout supports practical urban range and enables easy swaps when charging flexibility matters. Actual range varies with speed, terrain, temperature, and riding style.

Chassis, suspension, and brakes

A lightweight steel trellis frame keeps the bike nimble and stable, complemented by a conventional front fork and Kawasaki’s Uni-Trak rear suspension for compliant ride quality. Braking is handled by front and rear discs with standard anti-lock braking (ABS) for controlled stops on variable surfaces. Sporty 17-inch wheels and road-focused tires contribute to confident handling.

Technology and rider interface

A color TFT instrument panel presents speed, battery state of charge, riding mode, and trip data with clear readability. Smartphone connectivity via Kawasaki’s Rideology app enables ride logging and basic bike info on your device. Regenerative characteristics support efficient city riding, and thoughtful touches—like walk mode with reverse—simplify everyday use.

Design and ergonomics

The Z e-1 ABS carries the minimalist, muscular lines of Kawasaki’s Z lineup in a compact, upright package that’s easy to maneuver and comfortable for a wide range of riders. Signature Kawasaki graphics and vivid green accents underscore its electric identity while maintaining familiar brand DNA.
