Ducati Multistrada V2 S: The Sweet Spot of the Multistrada Family

The Multistrada V2 S occupies the most sensible, most usable, and arguably most enjoyable position in Ducati’s adventure line-up. It is light enough to feel agile, powerful enough to thrill, and comfortable enough to cross continents—and the S badge brings the one feature that defines the model: Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) , a semi-active electronic suspension system that continuously adapts damping to the road beneath you.

Across the 2022–2026 model years, the V2 S has been offered in two generations. What matters for you as a buyer is that every one of them delivers the same core promise: a premium middleweight adventure-tourer with electronic suspension, IMU-managed rider aids, and a riding position that works as well on a daily commute as it does on a two-week tour. We stock both generations, new and used, across every condition grade—so you can choose the specification, budget, and condition that suit you, without compromising on the essentials.

Ducati Skyhook Suspension: The S-Model’s Defining Feature

The reason to choose the S over the standard V2 is Skyhook. This semi-active electronic suspension—built around a 45 mm fully adjustable fork and a fully adjustable rear monoshock, both with 170 mm of travel—continuously adjusts compression and rebound damping based on inputs from wheel-speed sensors and the inertial measurement unit.

The benefit is real and immediate:

  • Composure under braking and acceleration, with the chassis staying level and predictable.

  • Comfort over broken surfaces, isolating the rider from bumps without wallowing.

  • Confidence in the wet, with a dedicated low-grip setting that maximises feedback.

  • Sporting sharpness when you want it, firming up for spirited riding.

On 2025–2026 examples, the system gains independent suspension modes—so you can pair Comfort suspension with Sport power delivery, or any other combination—plus a Minimum Preload function that lowers the rear at the push of a button for easier low-speed manoeuvring. On 2022–2024 examples, Skyhook EVO delivers the same core benefits with pre-set modes tied to the riding mode selection.

An Engine for Every Generation, Character in Every Cylinder

The V2 S has been powered by two distinct engines across its run, and both are worth your attention:

  • 2022–2024: the 937 cc Testastretta 11° V-twin, producing around 113 hp and 96 Nm, with a broad, flexible spread of power and the unmistakable Desmodromic soundtrack that Ducati traditionalists love. Refined in 2022 with new con-rods, a lighter clutch, and an updated gearbox.

  • 2025–2026: the all-new 890 cc V2, producing 115.6 hp and 92 Nm, with variable valve timing for smoother, more tractable low-rpm response. It is the lightest twin Ducati has ever built, and it contributes to a claimed 18 kg weight reduction over the previous generation.

Both engines share the same philosophy: strong low-to-midrange torque, a linear and predictable throttle, and enough top-end to keep things exciting. Both are backed by Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) up/down for clutchless shifting, and both are A2-compliant (restrictable) —making the V2 S an excellent first big-bike Ducati.

Chassis and Ergonomics: Built for Real Riders

The V2 S has always been designed to be genuinely accessible:

  • Seat height is adjustable and can be lowered further with accessory low seats and, on 2025–2026 models, a lowered suspension kit taking it down to 790 mm—the lowest ever for a Multistrada V2 S.

  • The rider triangle is relaxed and upright, with low footpegs and a wide handlebar for control and comfort.

  • The 19-inch front wheel provides confident handling on mixed surfaces, while the 17-inch rear keeps road manners sharp.

  • Fuel capacity is generous (19–20 litres depending on year), giving genuine touring range.

On the 2025–2026 generation, the chassis is transformed by an aluminium monocoque frame (replacing the steel trellis) and an aluminium double-sided swingarm, delivering that 18 kg weight saving and a noticeably lighter, more agile feel at low speed and through corners.

New or Used, Excellent or Project: Buying Across the Range

We stock the entire 2022–2026 Multistrada V2 S spectrum, and we grade every example honestly:
