2026 KX™450X — Cross-Country Focus, KX Pedigree

Aperçu

The 2026 KX™450X is Kawasaki’s full-size cross-country competition motorcycle, built on the championship-proven KX platform and tailored for off-road racing. It blends the precise handling and responsive power of its motocross sibling with durability and control features suited for woods, desert, and GNCC-style terrain.

Engine and Performance

At its core is a race-developed 450-class four-stroke single designed for strong, tractable power across a wide rev range. The KX™450X delivers immediate throttle response for technical sections and sustained drive for fast special tests, with cross-country-ready final gearing that helps manage long climbs, slick roots, and extended high-speed runs.

Chassis and Suspension

A lightweight perimeter frame provides predictable cornering and stability over ruts, rocks, and whoops. Cross-country-specific suspension settings are tuned for varied terrain, offering compliance for chop while retaining the support needed under braking and on square-edge hits. The 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel combination improves footprint and sidewall compliance in off-road conditions.

Off-Road Details That Matter

Purpose-built components distinguish the KX™450X for race-day practicality and durability. An 18-inch rear wheel pairs with off-road tires for improved traction and impact absorption. A side stand simplifies staging and pit work, while off-road protection and chain specification are selected for longevity in muddy, sandy, or rocky environments. Ergonomics follow the KX tradition of a slim chassis and adjustable rider interface to fine-tune fit and control.

Confidence for Competition

The KX™450X is intended for closed-course off-road competition and arrives track-ready, minimizing the need for immediate modification. Its combination of responsive power delivery, compliant suspension, and cross-country hardware supports consistent lap times over long, punishing race days.
